Using SCCM as a Desktop Management Solution

Dave Kirk, Mark Grover

UNCW made the commitment to utilize Microsoft’s System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) as a total endpoint management system for our Windows desktops. This session will cover how the desktop consulting team presented the data to upper management so funds and resources could be earmarked. Then the presentation will take a technical turn and summarize the SCCM framework as provided by Microsoft, how UNCW configured this framework to best fit our needs, and outline the initial steps that are necessary to build a solid foundation. We’ll examine what SCCM features are currently being used by UNCW and what we are planning, highlighting how SCCM is allowing us to do more with less resources.
