The UNC System Security Framework

The UNC CIOs charged the UNC Security Council to come up with a security framework that could be implemented on each UNC campus and provide a common measurement baseline. The Security Council has put forward the ISO 27002 framework and each campus should be evaluating current policies and procedures against that framework. This presentation will discuss the framework; answer questions on the mapping this framework to other documents and standards (NIST, CoBIT, NC Statewide Information Security Manual, etc.); and provide advice on strategies to implement this framework. The target of this discussion will not be security professions but staff and management at UNC system institutions.
