Securing Your Network Utilizing 802.1x and Network Access Protection

Joff Thyer, Jeff Whitworth

Come see how UNCG designed and implemented a client computing environment using Microsoft Network Access Protection (NAP) to help ensure client device compliance. A deep dive of the network prerequisites, 802.1x configuration, Network Policy Server and Active Directory integration will be given by members of the UNCG System and Networks team. Learn how this environment is being used to serve campus staff to better protect the computing environment.

UNCG began the design of a mid-security tier network between 2006-2008 and has since migrated the majority of faculty and staff to the new environment. This effort included a network refresh and new Active Directory environment.
